It's Official: Tivotogo For Mac
Pioneered digital video recording as a new way of watching television – when you want it. Now it could be TV where you want it, too. The long-awaited service feature called TiVoToGo, set to launch Monday, will give users their first taste of TiVo untethered. No longer confined to TiVo digital video recorders in the living room or bedroom, subscribers will be able to transfer their recorded shows to PCs or laptops and take them on the road – as long as the shows are not specially tagged with copy restrictions. That’s also the case for pay-per-view or on-demand movies, and some premium paid programming.
TiVoToGo will be an automatic, free service upgrade for subscribers who own standalone Series2 TiVo DVRs. It will not work for subscribers owning DirecTV-TiVo satellite boxes. Also, the technology will work only with computers based on Microsoft Corp.’s Windows XP or 2000 operating systems, although a version for computers is planned, TiVo officials said” Via ABC 7 Absolutely unacceptable. Have the development team take a field trip to an Apple retail store and then tell me why the finest most powerful Media platform in the computer business is basically being ignored by Tivo. There’s no time line or even a suggestion of a release date. Working hard doesn’t cut it. Was supposedly being worked on hard for over a year now.
It's Official: Tivotogo For Mac Pro
Official announcement lacks the promise of a tweet made earlier by an exec that Microsoft was preparing a full-blown version of its Zune software for the Mac.
Look, the Cable companies are now offering set top boxes for $9.95. Tivo needs all the users it can get and they basically are abandoning the Mac community. All this build up, and it’s. Windows Media 10?
Have a nice day? We’re working hard on thatsomeday.
Newsflash: Broadcast networks are using Quicktime as a media standard for delivery to multiple platforms. You’ve got to come up with something better than market share BS. Try telling that to BMW & owners.
The free TiVo App for iOS is the ultimate entertainment app serving up control, discovery and a mobile place for viewing. “What to Watch” combines real-time viewing data, recommendations and personal preferences to create a custom dashboard presenting the exact content you want most every time you sit down to watch TV. Categories include: Popular on TV, Sports on Now, Powered by Thuuz, Movies on TV, Kids, Favorite Channels, Viewer’s recorded TV, Shared by Friends. TiVo Roamio Plus and TiVo Roamio Pro users can seamlessly stream live or recorded programming to their iOS devices from anywhere there is a WiFi signal. TiVo Stream users can stream live or recorded content to iOS devices within their home network and download shows to go. TiVo Stream, Roamio Plus and Roamio Pro users can now use the App to mirror their recordings to an Apple TV. A security update requires updating content already downloaded to the App.

3.4 Oct 28, 2014. FlyingEar, Thought it was better but much worse. I was a critic of the old version and had a lot of connectivity issues so, when the new one came out and seemed to be more stable, I was really happy even if it was a less user friendly interface. No such luck. This version of the app, on top of being less user friendly (why remove the swipe to delete standard?, why ask whether I want to watch on the phone when that’s the only option off network?), is far less stable and provides no more (maybe less) feedback as to the cause of failures. A failed download is difficult to restart and, more often than not, a seemingly successful download will have a playback error somewhere in the middle. Test your apps with real world scenarios and/or run a beta program!
How about direct app feedback within the app rather than having to contact TiVo CS or send a suggestion through the general suggestion portal?. Update for December 2018.

They refreshed some of the interface but still overly clunky and complex plus still just as buggy. Really annoying when I finally complete a download (on network even) only to have the video fail to play partway through! What’s the point of out of home streaming/downloading if the app is unstable?
