In Steam, when you purchase a game, you can use that game on any OS that the game works on. A humble question for machine. Steam's database records that your account has obtained access to a particular title, it does not restrict which operating system you use that title on (beyond the restriction of a title simply not being available for a given operating system).
The silver mid 2017 Apple 13.3' MacBook Pro is faster and more powerful, yet thin at 0.59' and lightweight at just 3 lb. This system is powered by a 7th Gen Kaby Lake 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core processor that features a burst speed of up to 3.6 GHz, while 8GB of 2133 MHz LPDDR3 RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently-used files and programs.
The 13.3' IPS Retina display features a WQXGA 2560 x 1600 screen resolution with a 227 ppi pixel density. It has LED backlighting with a maximum brightness of 500 nits, and it includes support for the P3 wide color gamut. Integrated Intel Iris Graphics 640 delivers a sharp, clear picture, and you'll also be able to output video to an external display using the system's Thunderbolt 3 ports, which feature native DisplayPort output. One Thunderbolt 3 port can support one multi-panel 5K display at resolutions up to 5120 x 2880 at 60 Hz, or dual 4K displays at resolutions up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz, each of which are able to support over a billion colors. For long-term storage of your files, this MacBook Pro is equipped with a 128GB PCIe SSD, with sequential read speeds up to 3.1 GB/s and sequential write speeds up to 2.1 GB/s. If you want to add external peripherals, dual Thunderbolt 3 ports support bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s, while also supporting 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 and device charging. 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi is built-in for wireless networking, and Bluetooth 4.2 technology will also allow you to connect additional compatible peripherals.
Other integrated features include a 720p webcam, dual microphones, stereo speakers, a 78-key backlit keyboard with 12 function keys and four arrow keys, an ambient light sensor, and a larger Force Touch trackpad. The 13.3' MacBook Pro includes a 61W USB Type-C power adapter that operates using 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz, a 6.6' USB Type-C charging cable, and a built-in 54.5Wh lithium-ion polymer battery that lasts for up to 10 hours before recharging is required - or up to 30 days of standby time. MacOS High Sierra is the installed operating system.
Please note that this Mac may come with an earlier version of macOS. You can upgrade to the latest version through the Mac App Store app. General Features Flash Storage The embedded 128GB PCIe SSD provides sequential read speeds up to 3.2 GB/s and sequential write speeds up to 2.2 GB/s. Battery Up to 10 hours of battery life is available for tasks such as iTunes movie playback and web surfing. Retina Display The display in the MacBook Pro features 500 nits and an increased contrast ratio, delivering deeper blacks and brighter whites. Its larger pixel aperture and variable refresh rate make it more power efficient than previous generations.
It also supports the P3 wide color gamut, which features 25% more colors than the commonly used sRGB gamut, for even more vibrant greens and reds. This helps ensure truer-to-life pictures with realistically vivid details, essential for graphic design, color grading, and editing. Keyboard and Trackpad Interacting with the MacBook Pro is a better experience all around. The keyboard has been redesigned to include a second-generation butterfly mechanism, which has been refined for greater comfort and responsiveness. The Force Touch trackpad is also much larger, giving your fingers more room to gesture and click.
Thunderbolt 3 Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices.
The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously or one multi-panel 5K display. The MacBook Pro has two ports, sharing one dedicated bus. Rated 4 out of 5 by Heins from Great product but something is missing I love this computer is extremely portable, but the lack of ports and the new battery are disappointing. Apple should have left at least one usb a 3.0. Dongles is something i'm not getting used to. Also the dongles available in the market as of now are very unreliable. I've been looking for the perfect one but no success, all of them have bad reviews, they get extremely hot, they suck your battery power faster, etc.
Also an sdcard slot would have been nice to have since i purchased the 128gb version. Pay the extra money and get at least 256gb version. Battery is weaker than previous models, with early 2015 version i was able to get trough the day but now at 3 pm i have to plug it back in. Rated 1 out of 5 by Gerry from Keyboard design flaw causes early often failure I've used all MacBook Pros variants since 2009. Never had a problem with their keyboards. Wanted to love it, but the keyboard extremely shallow design, and tight tolerances cause the keys to eventually either lose their 'click' i.e. Become spongy, or simply don't respond at all.
As a professional software developer, I live and die by a good keyboard. I either have to carry an external keyboard, or look for other options. For non-professional use, occasional emails, web browsing it's a fine machine, but there's nothing pro about this Mac. Rated 5 out of 5 by Dorian from Great computer great customer service I recently bought a MacBook Pro that was overheating while performing simple tasks.
Mac Pro Reviews 2017
The unit was less than 2 weeks old and I quickly contacted customer service. They responded the next day and were able to send a replacement even before I sent in the defective unit. They were very responsive and were able to solve the problem extremely quickly.
I was skeptical buying such an expensive product since I live on the West coast and was concerned about the possibility of needing to return the product but in this case it was handled perfectly. I would definitely recommend B & H to family and friends. Great customer service and great prices. Rated 5 out of 5 by Eddy from I love it and I love the company I have been looking forwardon buying a MacBook Pro for a long time and I'vebeen searching for a good price and I found it here!!! I was skeptical at first because it was $100 dollars off and then no sales tax but when it came in I wasn'tdisappointed I worried about nothing.
Ever since I got my computer I loved everything about it, the only thing I dislike about it is that you have a lot of adaptors unless you have an adoptor that has everything. I'm thankful for the company and that's why I'mwriting this review.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Romanel from An amazing devices, just as promised. My 2013 MacBook Air was dying, after years of college courses, photo editing, graphic designing, web designing, and video editing. It did more than it was made for, so it was time for a replacement. After hearing how poorly the 2018 MacBook Pro was doing, my attention turned to the 2017 MacBook Pro. I don't need the the Touch Bar or Touch ID, as I prefer the standard function keys. What I did need is a device capable of editing the YouTube videos that I produce, without issues. 8GB of RAM is perfectly fine, along with the 128GB of storage since all of my work is done through external storage, and so I bought this laptop.
Here I am, using said laptop to type this review 2 months after receiving it, and I absolutely love it. It's been running amazingly smooth for me, with macOS Mojave installed. Final Cut Pro X edits videos without issue, and I've even started migrating my Photoshop CC workflow on the MacBook Pro, again, running amazingly without any issues. All in all, everything is how I want it to be, from the vibrant screen, to the amazing battery life, to how well it handles content creation, to the gorgeous design.
It's lightweight with its slim profile (thinner, narrower, and lighter than my old 13' MacBook Air), so it's perfect for travelling. Rated 1 out of 5 by Abraham from Buggy, slow, loud, bad UI This is my first Mac computer coming from PC. Compared to my 2 year old computer that cost $600 brand new: -It's slower. It starts up slower. It's a lot louder (when the fan is on).It has worse battery life -It has a worse keyboard - the up and down arrow keys are not always responsive unless you press them dead center. The sound seemingly randomly doesn't work sometimes. Pros: -Big touchpad.Great monitor.Great speakers for a laptop (when they work). Just a horrible experience overall.
I've worked with Apple support to try to resolve some of these issues the past few weeks, but unfortunately now I'm beyond the 30 day return window that B&H offers (with restocking fee and shipping not covered). Though actually, it looks like they don't even allow returns for opened computers (In conclusion, no, I don't recommend this computer. Rated 4 out of 5 by Matias from Great product but little upgrade chance Apple is always innovating but sometimes they go too far. This MacBook comes with only two entrance that are USB-C. All the reliable adapters in the market cost about 30-40usd, and for me I need 3 of those. For the office, home and travel, so add that to the cost.
Then you think you can work with the 128gb couse you will eventually upgrade with some 500 kingstone ssd. We'll let me stop you there, apple has made their own tiny ssd card and a 500 apple ssd cost about three time a normal ssd. So good luck with that. After all for me MacBooks are the most reliable computers on the market, had my old MacBook pro for 7 years. But it's frustrating when apple decides to use technology from a future that it's still not in the hard market with competitive prices.
